Last month was coldest February in US since 1989

February 2021 was the coldest February for the United States in over 30 years, according to the NOAA report., and the coldest February for the entire globe since 2014. Members heating with electric, probably saw substantial increases in their usage.  

Lineman Jay Krump retires from the cooperative

Jay Krump, a journeyman lineman for our cooperative has retired as of Friday, March 12th after 15 years of service. He started at the co-op in April of 2006. He had previously worked for the city of Waterloo in a similar position. We wish Jay and his wife, Karen, all the best in their retirement!

Longtime employee, Steve Candler passes away

It is with great sadness that we announce retired groundman, Steve Candler has passed away. He worked for the cooperative almost forty years. Steve never met a stranger and came to work with great enthusiasm and good humor. Our sympathies go out to his wife, Anne and his family.

Office lobby to remain closed

The cooperative office lobby will remain closed to the public until the governor lifts all state restrictions for building occupations. Office personnel are available by phone at 939-7171 or 1-800-757-7433, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m.

Because of USPS backlogs, your Nov/Dec issue of the Co-op Echoes may just be arriving. It features the REDLG loan to the Maeys Creek Pumping District, planned tree trimming/spraying schedule for 2021 and contribution to the local Human Support Services.

Willard Wiggers passes – Longtime Member Service Director

Youth to Washington contest cancelled because of COVID

The annual Youth to Washington contest has been called off this year because of the pandemic. We had hoped that things would have worked out better by this time, but because of safety concerns, the event has been cancelled for 2021.
